AZAWAD | Color Changing Cotton yarn | 480 yards/115 gr | Fingering Weight
AZAWAD is a 4-ply/6-ply fingering weight cotton yarn that gradually changes colors
AZAWAD is part of our Malian yarn series: yarns that feature color changes as well as partial striping.
This series was inspired by the Malian Bogolan ("mud cloth") textile dying technique that uses fermented mud from the Niger River. To simulate the look of the Malian textiles, our yarns feature light-colored stripes that add structure and emphasis to the color changes occurring in the background.
AZAWAD has these lovely colors:
Oat - Gold - Chocolate with Natural Stripes
The yarn is skin-soft and drapes well; it is wound in a center-pull ball, no rewinding required.
100% cotton - hand wash in cold/lukewarm water
115 gr skein (appr.)
480 yds/438 m (appr.)
Needles: US 2-6 or 2.75-4 mm
For pattern ideas check our Ravelry group, Fans of Wolle's Yarn Creations.
I try to represent the colors as accurately as possible in both description and photos, but please note that monitors may vary in their display of colors.
