Relaxing Knits for the Holidays

The end of year is often busy and hectic, so it is good to have an easy and relaxing knitting project on the needles. Here are six patterns - all knitted in garter stitch - that are simple and straightforward yet pretty and beautiful.

1. Dust & Clay (design by Veera Välimäki) knitted in 1 x 100 gr of RAPHAELA and 1 x 100 gr of WHITE

2. Color Love (design by Veera Välimäki( knitted in TEAL, RED, and ROYAL BLUE = 3 x 100 gr skeins, sport weight, Cotton/Silk/Merino Blend

3. Tarni Shawl (by Ambah O’Brien) knitted in 1 x 100 gr of ALLOY + 1 x 100 gr of PSYCHEDELIC + 1 x 100 gr of PEACH

4. Dianella Wrap (design by Ambah O'Brien) knitted in 1 x 100 gr of PAULINE and 1 x 100 gr of GREY

5. Bellarose Shawl (by Ambah O’Brien) knitted in 2 x 100 gr of MILAN

6. a) Strider (design by Martina Behm) knitted in 1 x 100 gr of KANDINSKY (Cotton/Silk)*

   b) Strider (design by Martina Behm) knitted in 1 x 100 gr of RENEE (Cotton/Bamboo)*

• The yarn I used (Cotton/Silk and Cotton/Bamboo) is thinner than the designer’s. To adjust for the difference, I cast on 176 stitches (instead of 146).
